How to Grow Sour Apricot Kush Outdoors: A Comprehensive Guide
Growing Sour Apricot Kush outdoors can be a rewarding experience, providing ample space for this vigorous strain to flourish under natural sunlight. Follow these steps to cultivate your own thriving Sour Apricot Kush garden:
1. Selection of Location:
- Choose a location with ample sunlight exposure (at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily).
- Ensure good air circulation and ventilation to prevent mold and mildew formation.
- Consider privacy and security, especially if growing in areas where cannabis cultivation is subject to legal restrictions.
2. Preparation of Soil:
- Test the soil to ensure proper pH levels (between 6.0 and 7.0) for optimal nutrient absorption.
- Amend the soil with organic matter such as compost, aged manure, or worm castings to improve texture and fertility.
- Ensure adequate drainage to prevent waterlogging, which can lead to root rot.
3. Germination and Seedling Stage:
- Germinate Sour Apricot Kush seeds using your preferred method (paper towel, water glass, or directly in soil).
- Once seeds have sprouted, transplant seedlings into small pots filled with well-draining soil.
- Place seedlings in a warm, sunny location and water regularly to keep soil evenly moist.
4. Transplanting and Vegetative Growth:
- After seedlings have developed several sets of true leaves, transplant them into larger containers or directly into the prepared outdoor soil.
- Provide ample space between plants to allow for proper airflow and light penetration.
- During the vegetative stage, focus on providing nitrogen-rich fertilizers to support healthy foliage growth.
5. Training Techniques:
- Consider using Low-Stress Training (LST) methods such as tying down branches or using trellises to encourage lateral growth and maximize yield.
- Regularly prune and defoliate lower branches to promote airflow and prevent pest and disease infestations.
6. Flowering Stage:
- Sour Apricot Kush typically enters the flowering stage when daylight hours decrease to approximately 12 hours per day.
- Monitor plants closely for signs of nutrient deficiencies or pest infestations, adjusting feeding and pest control strategies as needed.
- Provide support for heavy buds to prevent branches from bending or breaking under their weight.
7. Harvesting and Curing:
- Harvest Sour Apricot Kush when trichomes have turned cloudy or amber in color, indicating peak cannabinoid production.
- Use sharp pruning shears to carefully trim buds from branches, taking care to handle them gently to preserve trichomes.
- Hang harvested buds in a cool, dark, and well-ventilated space to dry slowly for 7-10 days.
- Once buds are sufficiently dried, transfer them to airtight containers for curing, burping jars regularly to release excess moisture and promote proper curing.
8. Enjoying Your Harvest:
- After curing for 2-4 weeks, Sour Apricot Kush buds will have developed their full aroma, flavor, and potency.
- Store cured buds in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat to preserve freshness and potency.
- Enjoy the fruits of your labor responsibly, savoring the unique flavors and effects of your homegrown Sour Apricot Kush.
Organic Sour Apricot
We are happy to share this choice batch of Sour Apricots. This farm specializes in producing quality organic cannabis at an affordable price. The hippy-run operation is passionate about producing quality smoke. They burp the flowers on a trihourly basis for the 28 days following the initial dry in a dry cold environment.
This craft cannabis batch of organic Sour Apricot is hippy grown pesticide-free cannabis on the Gulf Islands on BCBud's west coast. The estate farm has a unique Terroir using regenerative soil practices. According to the farm, they never till the soil preferring to build up the natural ecosystem with myocilin additions and organic teas.
We also noticed that this slow cold cured organic Sour Apricot has produced excellent clean smoke that is burnout-free.
What to expect from Organic Sour Apricot
This Organic Bud is perfect for mellowing vibes and chilling to tunes. There is very little burnout or sleepiness, ideal for daytime puffs. There is a unique sweet Mellon fruity apricot terpene profile which truly makes this cannabis a rare delight. Let us know if it passes your smoke test.
Flavour of Sour Apricot
The aftertaste is clean and smooth but still carries fruity notes of mellon. As for the look, the frosty trichome layer really pops, especially with the contracts of the bright-orange hairs. Due to the slow curing process and clean growing practices, the burn is ultra-clean. Given that it is a relatively light strength and well-cured clean smoke, we found it as a great addition to heavier strains to make some nice blended Chongers at a good value.
